Live music, flying candyfloss and the smell of roasted coffee beans: Laia RiCa highlights two familiar substances of our life in a visually strong and unexpected manner. Raised in San Salvador and Germany, she interweaves the history of European migration to Central America with her own biography. Using coffee beans and candyfloss, personal material and historical sources, video fragments and live music, she creates a visually strong, intense and sensual piece that playfully challenges the way we deal with what we know about global injustice.
