trieb is our programme for young emerging artists, which in 2026 is created by the fifth year of the EXIT THE ROOM project. Participants from Italy, Germany and Austria design co-creation processes with children and youths, tackling commonalities as well as differences in perspective off and on stage, through performance and discussion. The results of the group’s three-week research period will be presented in Graz.
EXIT THE ROOM invites young artists to let their own creativity venture out of rehearsal spaces and into new cities, languages and ideas. This European ERASMUS+ project, scheduled from 2022 to 2027, identifies as a lab for visions; in residencies, workshops and open try-outs, emerging artists meet experienced theatre-makers to reimagine the field again and again, taking it out into the cities and exploring new forms of story-telling together with children and youths. A growing European network combines artistic practice, discourse and exchange across national borders.
